    Dearest Uncle Harold,

I hold nothing but dear memories of you. My earliest memories are of your tall, handsome presence—paired with a gentle kindness and a genuine warmth that made me feel seen, safe, and cared for. You were a steady place in our family… a quiet strength, full of encouragement. Yours and Aunt Kathy’s wedding is still one of my favorite memories.

In my adult years, our time together was always a blessing—a warm hug, a welcoming smile, and genuine interest in my life. I also carried the comfort of knowing you and Aunt Kathy were praying for me and our family. That kind of faithful love is a reflection of Christ, and it leaves a lasting mark.

I so enjoyed and was inspired by your travels, orchid farming, and photography. I always hoped to travel with you and Aunt Kathy on one of your adventures—it would have been such a joy. Perhaps I will one day tag along with Aunt Kathy on her next adventure. I know you will be cheering us on.

I am so deeply thankful for the way you and Aunt Kathy showed up for Morgan, myself, and our family at Dave’s memorial. Your presence meant more than words can express. And the letter you sent afterward is something I will always treasure.

In the days, weeks, and months following Dave’s passing, when I reached out, you and Aunt Kathy received me with such grace, love, and gentle wisdom. Every conversation brought encouragement. You lived out Galatians 6:2—“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

Uncle Harold, you were a gift to our family—a man of quiet strength, steady faith, and deep kindness. We rejoice knowing you are now in the presence of the Lord, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)

You will be so dearly missed and so gratefully remembered. Your life continues to point us to what matters most—faith, family, service.

Surely you have heard Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23

    With My Love,
    Connie
