Explore opportunities to learn, heal and grow with Avow. Here, you’ll find everything you need from support
groups to informative seminars by our experts in hospice, palliative care and grief support.
This group is best suited for those who lost a partner or spouse more than one year ago. Discussions will focus on issues bereaved spouses/partners face as they walk through their loss. The group is led by a licensed bereavement counselor. Some group participants choose simply to listen; others feel comfortable sharing thoughts and feelings. During the session, trained bereavement staff reassure participants about what are “normal” reactions to loss and guide those who need them to additional resources in the community.
This group meets in the Center for Grief Support, Lyon Center, on the Avow campus.
Please call Avow before attending your first support group at (239) 261-4404.
Attendees are encouraged to wear masks (available at Avow).
