Bereaved and Avow Volunteer Book Club (online only)

This book club is open to bereaved community members experiencing grief and loss, and Avow volunteers. Books help us look deeper at struggles, tragedies, and triumphs. Explore the inner thoughts and emotions of your grief journey with literary fiction and memoirs. Group is led by an Avow licensed/credentialed counselor and/or co-led by an Avow volunteer.
This is an online group done through Zoom video conferencing. Please RSVP to bereavement@avowcares.org in order to join the group. You will receive Zoom instructions once you have RSVP’d.

Phyllis Hall joined Avow in October 2015 and serves as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing all aspects of financial operations, revenue cycle management, facilities, and information technology. With more than four decades of leadership experience in multi-specialty, multi-site healthcare finance and operations, Phyllis brings deep expertise in strategic financial planning, operational performance, and organizational growth.
Before joining Avow, Phyllis held key executive roles within University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. She served as Vice President and Executive Director of University Hospitals Management Services Organization, University Hospitals Medical Group, and University Hospital Practices. She began her tenure with University Hospitals in 1998 as Chief Financial Officer of the physician management services division, where she led financial strategy and execution across a large, integrated health system.
Phyllis earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin and has built a strong reputation for aligning financial performance with mission-driven healthcare goals. Her leadership strengths include physician compensation modeling and implementation, acquisition and onboarding of physician practices, and driving revenue cycle performance to industry best practices. She is also highly skilled in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and analysis, and fostering cross-functional team collaboration.
A committed industry and community leader, Phyllis serves on the Florida Hospice and Palliative Care Association Finance Committee and is an alternate on the Associations Board of Directors. She is a graduate of Leadership Collier Class of 2022 and actively serves on the Finance Committee of the Fiddlestick Homeowners Association.
