Grief is often described in stages, though each stage may last for a different period of time — for some people, the stages may be briefer or longer than for others, and some people may not experience all of them. When child learn to acknowledge these experiences they learn how to open up and verbalize their emotions. These feelings are normal, and it’s important to remember that at some point, it will get better. These losses may be from a death loss, parents divorcing, a parent or loved one leaving for the military, or even becoming incarcerated. Some children may also experience loss from deportation or overall loss of normalcy from the pandemic.
How do I move past all those feelings. How do I begin again? How do I find love, laughter and happiness again? How do I move on without feeling guilty? How do I explain it to others, how do I process being happy again? How do I put all those pieces together again?
