Butterfly Release Honors Memories; Lifts Spirits
06 April 2016 | webmaster
On March 26, 2016 hundreds joined Avow in Cambier Park to experience an exhibit of live butterflies and to honor loved ones. Visitors walked through a large tent filled with flowering plants and nearly 600 butterflies representing 8 species. Children and adults delighted in watching the colorful butterflies alight upon a finger or shoulder. Outside the exhibit, visitors enjoyed children’s crafts, face painting, refreshments and shopping for all things butterfly.
Over 600 names were read in the public remembrance ceremony which concluded with the opening of the exhibit tent and release of butterflies.
Over $34,000 was raised through cash and inkind donations. All proceeds benefit hospice care services provided by Avow in Collier County, Florida.
