Board of Directors, Avow Foundation, Inc.

Vip Grover joined the Board of Directors in 2011. He is currently serving his first term as Chairman of the board. Grover has also been a member of Avow’s Marco Island Community Advisory Board since 2008 and currently serves as its chairman. He is the managing partner and agent of V.I.P. Insurance Services on Marco Island, a past president of the Marco Island Chamber of Commerce, and has chaired and co-chaired fundraisers for the Art League of Marco Island, as well as the corporate sponsorship team of Relay for Life (American Cancer Society, Marco Island Unit). Grover is a graduate of Leadership Marco and holds a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Lafayette College of Easton, Penn.

Rev. Kathryn Schillreff  joined the Board of Directors in January 2014. Rev. Schillreff recently retired as rector of St. Monica’s Episcopal Church in Naples. Rev. Schillreff is the leader of St. Monica’s Episcopal Church in Naples. Prior to joining the Board, Rev. Schillreff was a member of the Avow Spiritual Advisory Board. Her community involvement includes engagement with the Harry Chapin Food Bank.

Gerald Lanz, Secretary was a founding partner and the Chief Operating Officer of Navigant Consulting Inc. Navigant Consulting, headquartered in Chicago, is a specialized international consulting firm providing strategic, operational, and technical management consulting services. In addition to his role as COO, he consulted with CEO’s and senior management on issues related to corporate strategy, organization structure, and management effectiveness.

Prior to Navigant, Mr. Lanz spent more than 20 years in the telecommunications industry with Ameritech and AT&T.

Mr. Lanz was on the Board of Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, and chaired the hospital’s Quality Management and Professional Services Committee.

He resides in Chicago and Naples, Florida.

Roger Lipitz joined the Avow Hospice, Inc. Board in July, 2011.

He is a former chairman of the board of the Baltimore Development Corporation and of the University of Maryland Medical System. He also chaired the board of Meridian Healthcare, the largest provider of long-term care services in Maryland. He is a past president of the American Health Care Association, the largest nursing home association in the U.S., and also served as president of the Maryland Nursing Home Association.

He is a trustee of the Johns Hopkins University and chair of the Health Advisory Board at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Kim M. Borselli was born in New Jersey and grew up working and managing funeral homes around the state. In 2001 he and his family moved to Broward county Florida where he managed cemeteries and funeral home in Broward and Dade Counties.

In 2014 he came to Naples, Florida as managing Partner for Fuller Funeral Homes.  His three children still reside in Palm Beach county attending college. Kim is a member of the Naples Networking group, the Naples Italian American Club Foundation, National Aging in Place Council (NAIPC), the Naples Interagency, Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, Business Network International (BNI) the Naples North Rotary Club, the Collier 100 club. Kim also is an active member and Vice President of the Nightingales Nurses Tribute Society .

A fourth degree member of St. Agnes Knights of Columbus assembly 14202, Mr. Borselli is also a member of the Color Core and fourth degree council # 3084, screen and sound operator at Sunday 9am mass.

Jaysen Roa joined Avow as President & CEO in October, 2015.

Prior to joining Avow, Roa served as Executive Director at Good Shepherd Hospice, Inc. an affiliate of Chapters Health System, Inc. based in Lakeland, Florida, and was responsible for the daily operations of the hospice’s 550 patients, 300-plus staff and three free-standing inpatient facilities.

Roa’s extended hospice experience includes directing clinical, business development, fundraising and community relations operations and ensuring regulatory compliance. He developed and implemented a pediatric palliative care program and has engaged in local, state and national efforts to promote recommended hospice legislative actions.

Prior to working at Good Shepherd Hospice, Roa held leadership positions at Hernando Pasco Hospice (HPH), Inc. and worked at Hospice of Citrus County, Inc., both based in Florida.

Roa is a Certified Hospice Administrator who holds a Master’s in Business Administration and Master’s in Health Administration from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University of South Florida in Tampa.
