    The Widow & Widower support group is open to anyone in the community who has experienced a recent loss. The group is led by a licensed bereavement expert and is most appropriate for those who have experienced a loss within the past year.

    Some group participants choose simply to listen; others feel comfortable sharing thoughts and feelings. During the session, trained bereavement staff reassure participants about what are “normal” reactions to loss and guide those who need them to additional resources in the community.

  • Grieving Together: A Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Group

    Avow offers a specialized grief support group to help individuals and families who have experienced the loss of a child at any point during pregnancy or during the first year of life.

    During the session participants will have the opportunity to talk about their loss, receive validation and
    acknowledgment of their experience, and learn coping skills to help with healing.

    No registration is required and there is no cost to attend.

    Avow Art Therapist, Jenni Ford, and Avow Children’s Services staff are hosting an art camp for children who are processing grief and loss on Saturday, January 27th at the Ispiri Community Center at Avow. Children between the ages of 8 and 17 are invited to use art materials to process their grief and learn new coping skills with our team of children’s bereavement experts. There is no cost to attend.
