Children and teens who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life have the opportunity to participate in a new monthly support group at Avow. The sessions, led by children’s bereavement counselor Raquel Gonzalez, are designed to give children the opportunity to express feelings, build coping skills and reinforce positive memories of their loved ones in a safe and caring atmosphere. Children will join peers who have also experienced loss to engage in age appropriate discussions and activities.

Sessions will be held on the first Thursday of the month.

    Children age 5 to 11 may attend from 3:30 – 4:30 PM
Adolescents and teens age 12 to 17 may join the 4:45 – 5:45 PM offering.

Both groups will be held at Ispiri community center on the Avow campus at 1095 Whippoorwill Lane in Naples.

There is no fee to participate; signed parental consent is required and may be completed at the first session. Call Raquel Gonzalez at 239-261-4404 for more information.
